Eligible relatives could request a driver’s license or ID card marked “GOLD STAR FAMILY.” The person must be the surviving spouse, parent, child, or sibling of a U.S. armed forces member who died while serving on active duty during a time of military conflict or as a result of that service. The person must provide satisfactory proof of eligibility.
