The District gives parts of its 2024 traffic law separate start dates. Section 3 covers all purposes other than the District's Ignition Interlock System Program at the first date, including its Intelligent Speed Assistance Program. The first date is when the related emergency amendment passed February 3, 2026, takes effect. Section 3's ignition interlock part and sections 4(d), 4(f), 5, and 6 apply January 1, 2027. This temporary amendment expires 225 days after it takes effect.
