Starting October 1, 2026, licensed agencies serving managed residential communities must train all employees each year on residents' fear of retaliation.
Each licensed agency providing assisted living services in a managed residential community must give all employees annual training about residents' fear of retaliation.
Each covered agency must ensure all its employees receive annual training about residents' fear of retaliation. This applies to agencies licensed to provide assisted living services in managed residential communities. “Assisted living services” has the meaning given in state law. The training must cover residents' rights to complain, examples of retaliation or behavior residents may see as retaliation, and ways to prevent it and ease residents' fears. The trainer must know the needs of residents served at the community, but does not have to be a qualified social worker or social worker consultant. The requirement takes effect October 1, 2026.
