Starting in 2027, executive branch agencies would make yearly plans for their goals and report on progress to state officials and lawmakers.
Each state agency would make and carry out a plan for its long-term and day-to-day goals every year.
Agencies would report each year on their plans and progress. The Office of Policy and Management would review how agencies are doing at least every two years.
After receiving an agency’s report, the committee that oversees it would hold a hearing for the agency’s executive authority to present the plan.
Each state agency would develop and carry out a plan for its goals. A state agency includes departments, boards, councils, commissions, institutions, and other executive branch agencies, including constituent units. The section would take effect October 1, 2026. Agencies would have to develop and carry out their first plans by July 1, 2027, and do so annually after that.
Each agency would report on its plan and progress to the Office of Policy and Management and its oversight committee; that office would review agencies’ progress. The report covers the agency’s plan and its progress toward its goals during the prior year. The first report would be due January 1, 2028, covering the prior year, with annual reports after that. Reviews would happen at least every two years.
