Delaware lawmakers voted to bring back a task force that will track the planned Edgemoor port terminal and report its progress to legislative leaders each month.
The task force will track the planned Edgemoor port terminal and send legislative leaders written updates each month. It may recommend ways to advance port expansion.
Lawmakers, government officials, business and labor leaders, and two public members will serve on the task force. A majority must approve its official findings and recommendations.
The task force must monitor work on the terminal and send written progress reports to Senate and House leaders each month. The work concerns the Diamond State Port Corporation and Enstructure's plans for a new terminal at Edgemoor. The task force may send lawmakers written recommendations when needed. Its first meeting must take place within 15 business days after the resolution passed.
The resolution sets the task force's membership and requires majority approval for its official decisions. Members include lawmakers, two public appointees, government officials, business leaders, and labor representatives. Some officials who serve because of their jobs may name a substitute in writing. Official findings and recommendations need approval from a majority of members.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
