The law extends pesticide cholinesterase testing, reporting, and related health-monitoring requirements for workers and employers through January 1, 2030.
Existing pesticide testing, reporting, and health-monitoring rules continue through January 1, 2030, covering workers, employers, medical supervisors, laboratories, and health agencies.
Existing pesticide cholinesterase testing and reporting rules continue until January 1, 2030. The rules cover employers of workers who regularly handle pesticides, registered medical supervisors, testing laboratories, agricultural workers receiving cholinesterase tests, and state and local health agencies. Employers must use a medical supervisor registered with the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. Laboratories must report required test information at least monthly through approved electronic systems. Medical supervisors must give workers and employers test results and recommendations within 14 days of receiving the results. Reported information remains confidential, but specified agencies may share it for health surveillance, case management, investigations, environmental cleanup, or pollution control. The provisions remain in effect through January 1, 2030, and are repealed on that date unless a later law enacted before then deletes or extends the repeal date.
