For the fiscal year starting July 1, 2026, Arkansas's Community Correction division receives listed operating funds and staffing limits, subject to state spending rules.
The Division of Community Correction may use up to 912 regular employee positions and 10 temporary or part-time workers during the 2026–2027 fiscal year.
For 2026–2027, the Act provides $93,187,226 across three funding sources for Community Correction salaries, daily operations, reentry work, and asset-forfeiture operations.
The division director may shift money among approved operating line items, but only after approval from the state's chief fiscal officer and legislative budget reviewers.
During 2026–2027, Community Correction may use authorized capital-outlay funds to purchase motor vehicles, subject to available money and state spending rules.
The Division of Community Correction has a maximum of 912 regular employee positions and may use up to 10 temporary or part-time workers. The limits cover the Division of Community Correction's listed jobs and its temporary or part-time workers known as extra help. Extra-help workers must be paid from funds provided for that purpose. Extra-help pay may not exceed the rates allowed for the proper job classification. These staffing limits apply during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
The Act provides money for the Division of Community Correction's salaries, operations, reentry work, special-revenue operations, and federal asset-forfeiture operations. The main state-operations account totals $78,249,356, special-revenue operations total $14,862,870, and federal asset-forfeiture operations receive $75,000. Spending must stay within the listed appropriations and money made available by law. Disbursements must follow state purchasing, accounting, budget, salary, revenue, and other applicable fiscal-control laws. The appropriations cover the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
The Division director may move money between approved line items for state operations and special-revenue operations. Transfers may involve any line item authorized in those two appropriation sections. The Chief Fiscal Officer of the State must approve the request. The Arkansas Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee must also review and approve it. If a court invalidates that legislative approval requirement, the entire transfer section is void. This transfer authority applies from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
The Division of Community Correction may buy motor vehicles using capital-outlay money authorized in the Act. The authority covers motor vehicles purchased from capital-outlay appropriations in the state-operations and special-revenue operations sections. Spending remains subject to the Act's available funds and other state fiscal-control laws. This vehicle-purchase authority applies from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
