Beginning June 1, 2026, the person holding the Miss Alabama title will represent Alabama voluntarily at approved civic, ceremonial, and outreach activities.
Starting June 1, 2026, the person holding the Miss Alabama title will also hold an honorary state ambassador role during that annual term.
The ambassador may support state events and outreach without pay or government decision-making power, but participation is voluntary and agencies do not have to use the role.
Miss Alabama will serve as Alabama's Official State Ambassador. The designation covers the person recognized by the Miss Alabama Organization as Miss Alabama for an annual term. The role is honorary and represents Alabama in promoting goodwill and civic engagement. The designation does not continue after the person's Miss Alabama term ends. The designation takes effect June 1, 2026, applies during the person's annual term, and transfers automatically when a new Miss Alabama is selected.
The ambassador may join state agency events and outreach when invited or coordinated, while agencies may choose whether to use the ambassador. Activities may include ceremonial, educational, civic, tourism, economic development, public-service, and goodwill events in Alabama or elsewhere. Participation is voluntary. The role provides no salary, stipend, benefits, expense reimbursement, policymaking power, regulatory power, or decision-making power. A state agency may coordinate appearances and outreach only when they fit the agency's mission, but no agency must request or use the ambassador. These activities and limits apply beginning June 1, 2026, during the person's term as Miss Alabama.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
