The law allows the Alabama Department of Revenue to issue a title for an older manufactured home when its current owner requests one. This applies to manufactured homes designated as model year 1999 or earlier. Other listed exclusions include modular homes and homes permanently attached to land after their title or origin certificate has been canceled. The request must come from the home's current owner. The law takes effect January 1, 2027.
