Certain Alaska Housing Finance Corporation mortgage loans would get a one-point rate reduction up to $400,000, with the cutoff rising each year for inflation.
Certain small-community and multifamily housing loans would get a one-point lower rate on amounts up to $400,000. Amounts above that cutoff would get the full comparison rate.
Qualifying mortgage loans would get an interest rate one percentage point below a comparison rate, except on amounts above a set cutoff. The rule covers mortgage loans originated or purchased in whole or in part under AS 18.56.420 for small-community housing, or multifamily housing under AS 18.56.580. The one-point reduction applies to the portion up to the cutoff. Any portion above the cutoff gets the comparison rate. The $400,000 cutoff would adjust each July 1 for the prior calendar year's increase in the Consumer Price Index for urban Alaska.
