If enacted, plant sellers could not call a plant beneficial to pollinators when it was treated with certain systemic insecticides carrying pollinator-related warnings.
Plant sellers would not be allowed to label or advertise certain plants as beneficial to pollinators. This would apply to anyone selling plants at retail or providing plants to an end user, including annual, bedding, and other plants, plant material, and nursery stock. The restriction would apply when a plant was treated with a systemic insecticide. The insecticide must have a pollinator-protection box on its label or a pollinator, bee, or honeybee warning in the environmental hazards section of its label. If enacted, the restriction would take effect on the first day of the seventh month beginning after publication.
