Tiverton’s assessor prepares annual property valuations and tax rates, and may apply different rates to different property classes. The rules cover property in Tiverton, including homes, business property, personal property, and mobile homes on leased land. The rate must be uniform for all properties within each class. For homes with five or fewer units, the town may allow a homestead exemption or instead divide the class into owner-occupied and other homes and set separate rates within the stated limits. The act takes effect upon passage.
