Coventry’s assessor would value homes, businesses and taxable personal property separately, then set rates to collect each class’s share of the local tax levy with town council approval.
Coventry’s assessor would value three property classes and set tax rates to collect each class’s share of the town’s total property tax levy, with town council approval.
The assessor would value each property class and set tax rates to collect its share of Coventry’s total property tax levy. The classes are homes with up to five units, open space and homes on leased land; commercial and industrial property and homes with more than five units or some business use; and most taxable personal property, excluding motor vehicles and trailers. A separate section says the assessor determines each class’s share with town council approval. The act states that it takes effect retroactively to December 31, 2025.
