Covered health plans would cover approved menopause drugs and devices, behavioral therapy, and therapy for menopause caused by a hysterectomy. Policy rules on medical need, costs, and service review would still apply.
Covered health plans would cover menopause treatments. This would apply to covered medical and health plans offered in Pennsylvania, but not limited-benefit policies such as dental-only, vision-only, or workers' compensation policies. Coverage would remain subject to policy rules for medical need, cost-sharing, and review of services. The bill would take effect in 60 days. For plans that must file rates or forms, the rule would apply when a form or rate is first filed on or after its effective date; other plans would be covered when issued or renewed on or after 180 days after that date.
