Pennsylvania’s Human Services Department would publish a yearly report on oversight and taxpayer-funded payments at regulated child care and child treatment facilities.
The Human Services Department would publish a yearly oversight report on regulated child care and child treatment facilities, including inspections, violations, enforcement, complaints, investigations, and taxpayer-funded child care payments.
The department would prepare and publicly post the report and send it to leaders of four legislative committees. It would cover department-regulated child care facilities and child residential or day treatment facilities. At minimum, the report must cover inspections, violations, enforcement, complaints, investigations, and taxpayer-funded child care payments. Enforcement actions must be broken down statewide and by licensing region. Payment checks, improper payments, and recovered money are included only when the department has that information. The requirements would begin 60 days after the measure becomes law; reports would be due on or before January 1 each year.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
