What it does
A bronze Braille Flag monument displaying the Pledge of Allegiance in braille would stand in the Capitol's East Wing, with the state coordinating its site and installation.
Argument forIncluding braille could let blind Capitol visitors read the Pledge of Allegiance as part of the monument.
Argument againstPreparing the site and installing a bronze monument could take staff time and space away from other Capitol needs.
More detail
A bronze Braille Flag monument would be placed in the State Capitol Building. The monument would stand in the East Wing and display the Pledge of Allegiance in braille. The Department of General Services would coordinate with The Moose organization on choosing and preparing the site and placing and installing the monument. Beyond that coordination, the proposal would impose no duties on the department. These requirements would take effect immediately if the proposal became law.
