The association would have to use the covered fire insurance taxes for purposes listed in its founding law. The rule covers the association’s fire insurance tax money from property in areas protected by the Islip Terrace fire department. Spending would be limited to the association’s purposes listed in section 3 of its founding law. If enacted, the section 7 rules would apply to taxes due on premiums received on or after January 1, 2027.
