Starting November 8, 2026, New Jersey’s tourism division must create a film trail and searchable visitor website. Private homes are excluded, and locations suggested by the public or private groups need verification before inclusion.
The Division of Travel and Tourism must select filming sites in consultation with the state’s film commission. It must maintain a searchable visitor website with a list, an interactive map, and suggested vacation trips. The trail covers New Jersey locations used to film popular movies, television, and other entertainment. Private homes cannot be listed. The division must accept online suggestions, as appropriate, for sites outside government ownership, operation, or maintenance. The film commission must verify these locations before inclusion. The website must include photos, filming descriptions, and driving directions. It must give transit directions where applicable and tour details when tours are offered. Suggested trips must identify nearby places to visit, eat, and stay. The website must be updated whenever the commission identifies a new filming location. The law takes effect November 8, 2026, 60 days after its September 9, 2026, approval.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
