The Motor Vehicle Commission would issue special plates after an application and a one-time $50 fee. The veteran must have a service-connected disability rating of at least 70 percent that causes a walking impairment. The vehicle must be owned or leased and registered in New Jersey by the veteran or by someone who provides transportation for the veteran.
The Commission would put plate application fees left after program costs into a fund for veteran housing programs. This applies to fees paid for the disabled veteran plates described in the estimate.
