Since July 7, 2026, New Hampshire law has made post-relationship limits on where physician associates may practice unenforceable in new or renewed contracts.
A contract cannot enforce a limit on where a physician associate may practice after the professional relationship ends. The rest of the contract remains in force.
A contract term that limits where a physician associate may practice after the relationship ends is void and cannot be enforced. This applies to physician associates licensed by the New Hampshire board of medicine to practice in the state, and to contracts for a partnership, job, or other professional relationship. The rest of the contract remains in force. The rule applies only to new contracts and renewals entered into on or after July 7, 2026.
