New Hampshire’s health department must mention childhood vaccine exemptions starting October 13, 2026; pharmacies must explain prescription price options when asked starting January 1, 2027.
Starting January 1, 2027, pharmacies must make reasonable efforts to tell customers they can request the lowest available prescription price. They must explain available pricing options when asked.
Starting October 13, 2026, state health department materials about required childhood vaccines distributed for school or child care enrollment must say medical and religious exemptions are available.
Licensed pharmacies must make reasonable efforts to tell customers they can request the lowest available prescription price. These duties cover every pharmacy licensed in New Hampshire. When a customer asks, the pharmacy must explain available pricing options, including insurance costs, its usual cash price, and available coupons, discounts, or rebates. Pharmacies may give the notice through staff, checkout signs, or printed information. Both pharmacy duties take effect January 1, 2027.
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services must include a statement that medical and religious vaccine exemptions are available under state law. The statement is required in printed and electronic materials the department produces about required childhood vaccines and distributes for school or child care enrollment. The department must also put a link on an existing webpage to information about current vaccine exemptions. The statement requirement applies to covered materials distributed on or after October 13, 2026. The website-link requirement takes effect that day.
