The failed measure would have directed $3.7 million in general-fund money to two state agencies for a K-12 digital toolkit during fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
If enacted, the measure would provide $3.7 million over two fiscal years to help state agencies give schools statewide access to a standards-aligned digital toolkit.
The Office of Public Instruction and Department of Labor and Industry would receive general-fund money for statewide access to a K-12 digital toolkit. The toolkit would provide standards-aligned, multimodal materials across all subject areas, including career and technical education and connections with Montana industry partners. The Office of Public Instruction would receive $1.1 million for each fiscal year. The Department of Labor and Industry would receive $750,000 for each fiscal year. The legislature intends the money to become part of the ongoing base for the next legislative session. The measure would take effect July 1, 2025, and provide the listed amounts for fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
