School boards could renew some expiring school funding votes by adopting a written resolution after a public meeting and recorded vote. These provisions cover expiring general education and capital project funding votes, including certain votes carried into a newly consolidated school district. For general education votes, the renewed per-pupil amount must stay the same, including any inflation adjustment, and the term cannot exceed the original term except where another cited law allows it. For capital project votes, the annual amount must stay the same and the term cannot exceed the original term, subject to the stated exception. The ballot disclosure rule does not apply to elections held before November 4, 2025. The board must allow public testimony and meet the applicable filing deadlines. A renewal resolution would take effect 60 days after adoption. Capital project renewal resolutions must also meet the stated filing deadlines.
