Since July 1, 2026, the county licensing board must send event license notices to the director of its permitting department.
When the Board issues a Class C per diem alcohol license for an event, it must notify the director of the county’s permitting department instead of the director of the former environmental resources department.
The Board of License Commissioners must notify the director of the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. This applies in Prince George’s County when the Board issues a Class C per diem beer, wine, and liquor license for an event. The notice must include the event’s time, place, and expected size. The Board must also notify the County Police Chief and County Fire Chief, and, if applicable, the chief administrative officer of the municipality where the event will be held. The law took effect July 1, 2026.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
