Starting July 1, 2026, Anne Arundel County veterans’ clubs may qualify for a Class C alcohol license without requiring wartime service from their members.
A local veterans’ club can qualify for an Anne Arundel County Class C alcohol license without its members having served in a war. Every member must still have served in the uniformed services, and the club must meet other membership and clubhouse rules.
The law removes wartime service as a condition for members of a local club to qualify for the Class C license. This applies to a local unit of a nationwide nonprofit organization or club in Anne Arundel County. Every member must have served in the uniformed services. The local unit must have a national veterans’ organization charter granted before it applies, at least 100 members who each pay at least $5 in yearly dues, and a clubhouse used mainly by its members. The law takes effect July 1, 2026.
