Wicomico County or a town or city in the county may grant the organization a property tax credit by local law. The credit may apply to county or municipal property taxes on qualifying real estate owned by Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc., in the jurisdiction granting it. The property must be held with the intention of giving up ownership in the near future and used for development, repair, and transfer to a private owner. The property cannot be occupied by the organization’s administrative or warehouse buildings. The local government must pass a law to grant the credit; that law may set its amount, terms, scope, and duration. The law takes effect June 1, 2026, and applies to taxable years beginning after June 30, 2026.
