The county Board may issue a license allowing a barbershop or beauty salon to serve liquor to customers. The license is for a shop holding a barbershop or beauty salon permit in Anne Arundel County. The customer must be receiving a barbering or cosmetology service, or attending a fundraiser at the shop. During any one visit, the shop may provide no more than 1.7 ounces of liquor, 12 ounces of beer, or 5 ounces of wine by the glass. The law took effect July 1, 2026. Shops may serve during normal business hours, but no later than 9 p.m.; they do not need a separate Sunday license to serve on Sunday.
