Maryland applies certain property tax credits and exemptions to qualifying people with Space Force service. Covered people include disabled active duty service members, qualifying disabled veterans, and some surviving spouses. Each credit or exemption keeps its existing eligibility rules. These include service and disability requirements, and some require an honorable discharge and a finding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. A surviving spouse must meet the law’s definition, which includes not having remarried. These property tax provisions apply to tax years beginning after June 30, 2026.
