The law schedules yearly increases in Maryland’s State Library Resource Center funding rates beginning in fiscal year 2028, with existing funding rules still applying.
Starting in fiscal year 2028, Maryland’s State Library Resource Center’s minimum funding rate rises from $2.07 to $2.17 per resident, reaching $2.64 in 2032. Separate funding rules still apply.
The law sets rates of $2.17 per resident in fiscal year 2028, $2.28 in 2029, $2.39 in 2030, $2.51 in 2031, and $2.64 in 2032 and each year afterward. The center is the Central Library of the Enoch Pratt Free Library System. The minimum funding remains subject to separate rules in subsection (g), which is not included here. The law took effect July 1, 2026. The higher funding rates begin in fiscal year 2028.
