The law exempts eligible purchases of construction materials and warehouse equipment from sales and use tax. Covered property is in Washington County’s Mount Aetna Technology Park, accessible from Robinwood Drive, Mount Aetna Road, and Yale Drive, and located in an office, research, and industry zoning district. Buyers must purchase the items solely for use in the covered area and give sellers proof of eligibility issued by Maryland’s Comptroller, the state tax official. Construction materials must be used to build or renovate property and typically become part of it. Warehouse equipment must be used to handle or store materials. The Comptroller must report the combined amount to the governor and legislature. The law runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2036.
