Veterans’ clubs in Anne Arundel County can qualify for alcohol licenses without requiring wartime service, while still meeting club size and other rules.
Veterans’ clubs in Anne Arundel County can include certain National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Public Health Service members when qualifying for alcohol licenses. Members no longer need wartime service; other club requirements still apply.
The law adds certain National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Public Health Service members to the eligible membership groups and removes the wartime service requirement. These rules cover local units of nationwide nonprofit organizations or clubs seeking a veterans’ organization alcohol license in Anne Arundel County. Every member must have served in the uniformed services. The club must have a national veterans’ organization charter granted before its license application. It must have at least 100 members, charge annual dues of at least $5 per member, and operate for its members in a clubhouse principally used by them. The revised membership rules took effect July 1, 2026.
