Under the adopted House resolution, state agency and law enforcement representatives study utility terrain vehicle safety and recommend possible legislation before the 2027 regular session.
A Louisiana task force studies safety rules for utility terrain vehicles and reports recommendations before the 2027 regular session. The resolution does not itself set driving rules.
The task force studies safety rules for utility terrain vehicles and provides recommendations or proposals for legislation. Eight agency and law enforcement leaders, or their representatives, serve on the task force, including Louisiana State Police and transportation officials. Meetings and records follow Louisiana's laws on public meetings and access to public records. Members receive no task force pay, except daily allowances or expense repayment they qualify for as members of their own organizations. The first meeting is required by August 1, 2026, with meetings every two months afterward. Recommendations must reach the House transportation committee and David R. Poynter Legislative Research Library before the 2027 regular session begins.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
