Argument againstInsurers may have less room to change facility payments or contracts when another provider involved in a patient’s care has a different network status.
More detail
Health insurers must not reduce claim payments to, or suspend or end agreements with, covered facilities for the stated reason. It covers licensed health care facilities that participate with an insurer when another health care provider contributes to any part of a patient’s care at the facility. The restriction applies only when the insurer acts solely because of another provider’s network or participation status. The restriction does not apply to the Office of Group Benefits. The Act took effect on June 8, 2026, when the governor signed it.
