Legislative Research Commission staff must study options for a statewide health data network. The study must consider a single statewide network that gathers health information and gives authorized recipients access. It must examine uses for health care data, care and treatment monitoring, and patients' access to their electronic health records. The study must consider privacy and security protections required by state and federal law. Staff may consult officials and other entities, hire a consultant or vendor, and convene a working group. The Commission may assign the study to an interim joint committee or subcommittee and set a different completion date. Staff must send a written report to the Commission by December 1, 2026, for referral to the Interim Joint Committee on Health Services, unless the Commission assigns the work elsewhere and sets a different completion date.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
