The proposed resolution would ask the Legislative Research Commission to reestablish a task force to study aviation and recommend ways to support the industry in Kentucky.
The task force would meet at least four times and report its findings or recommendations by December 1, 2026. The Commission could assign the work to a different group.
The proposed resolution would direct the Legislative Research Commission to reestablish an aviation task force to study the industry and make recommendations. The task force would study new aviation technology and travel needs, other states’ support for advanced air mobility, Kentucky’s aviation and aerospace opportunities, and state policies to support aviation growth. The task force would study these issues during the 2026 interim.
The proposed resolution would set the task force’s membership, meeting schedule, and reporting deadline. The task force would include four House members appointed by the Speaker and four Senate members appointed by the Senate President. Each group would include a minority-party member and a co-chair. The Legislative Research Commission would have final approval of the membership. The Commission could instead assign the issues to an intern committee or its subcommittee and set a study completion date. The task force would meet at least four times during the 2026 interim and report no later than December 1, 2026. If it submits recommendations, the Commission could refer them to committees before the 2027 regular session.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
