If enacted, insurers could file certain travel policies under accident and health insurance as well as inland marine insurance, while still meeting inland marine underwriting standards.
If enacted, insurers could file certain travel insurance policies under either the accident and health or inland marine line of insurance. This covers travel insurance for sickness, accident, disability, or death during travel, including policies that also cover emergency evacuation or returning remains home. Travel insurance could be sold as an individual, group, or blanket policy. Insurers could set eligibility and underwriting standards for specific travel plans or marketing and distribution channels. Those standards would also have to meet the state's inland marine underwriting standards. If enacted, the law would take effect after publication in the Kansas Register.
