Iowa law applies certain cost sharing only after enrollees in covered high-deductible plans meet the minimum deductible, with an exception for preventive care.
When certain cost sharing could make an enrollee ineligible for a linked health savings account, the plan applies it only after the enrollee meets the minimum deductible. Preventive care is excepted.
The law applies certain cost sharing only after an enrollee meets the plan's minimum deductible. The rule covers enrollees under Iowa Code chapters 509 and 514A whose qualified high-deductible health plans are linked to health savings accounts. This applies when a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible payment may make the enrollee ineligible for a health savings account linked to the plan. Preventive care items and services are excepted.
