Georgia’s adopted resolution scheduled four special-session meeting days in June 2026 and permits legislative leaders to reschedule when emergencies make Capitol meetings impractical.
Lawmakers were scheduled to meet June 17, 18, 20, and 22, 2026, with breaks June 19 and 21. Later resolutions can change the schedule.
If an emergency makes Capitol meetings unsafe, impractical, or impossible, legislative leaders may jointly reschedule them. Moving meetings requires the governor to declare a temporary government location.
The adopted resolution sets four meeting days for Georgia’s 2026 special session. The schedule covers the Georgia House and Senate. A later resolution can change the schedule. Each chamber can choose its own starting and ending hours. On and after June 22, 2026, later resolutions specify further breaks during the special session. Saturdays and Sundays are days off unless a later resolution says otherwise.
The House speaker and Senate president may jointly suspend the schedule and choose when lawmakers reconvene. These arrangements cover the special session when an emergency or disaster makes work at the Atlanta Capitol unsafe, impractical, or impossible. Without the governor’s declaration of a temporary government location, lawmakers must reconvene at the Capitol. Leaders must promptly notify their chamber’s lawmakers. Both chambers remain on break until the chosen date. After reconvening, lawmakers may jointly adopt another schedule. Adoption of this resolution gives both chambers’ consent to the emergency breaks. Leaders choose the date and time to reconvene when they suspend the schedule.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
