Florida’s highway safety department may let tax collectors enforce rules for commercial driving schools, including checking credentials and inspecting school locations.
Florida’s highway safety department may make agreements that let tax collectors enforce rules for commercial driving schools. The authority covers commercial driving schools, their licensed operators, and their agents. The agreements delegate the department’s authority to the tax collectors. An agreement may let tax collectors or their agents bar school operators and agents from tax collector property, except when they seek services personally; stop fraud or practices that undermine driver license issuance; demand relevant credentials; and enter school locations to check compliance with state and local laws. The law takes effect July 1, 2026.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
