Florida’s state land board must transfer specified Walton County property to DeFuniak Springs, which must keep it for public purposes and cannot sell it without losing ownership.
The state land board must transfer specified property in Walton County to the DeFuniak Springs City Council, with the transfer due within 90 days after the law takes effect.
DeFuniak Springs must protect the transferred property and keep using it for public purposes; any sale or other disposition returns ownership to the state.
The Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund must convey the described property to the DeFuniak Springs City Council in fee simple. The property is in Walton County and covers the described portions of Blocks 1620, 1629, and 1630, excluding the listed parcel and all sovereignty lands. The conveyance allows uses permitted by law. The conveyance must occur within 90 days after this act takes effect.
The city council must manage and protect the property and use it continuously for recreation, government, public safety, and community purposes. These requirements apply to the property conveyed under the act. If the city sells or otherwise disposes of the property, ownership reverts to the state land board on behalf of Florida. These requirements apply after the property is conveyed and continue while the city owns the property.
