The standards must allow office surgery suites to treat up to six outpatients at once when treatment, anesthesia, or their condition leaves them unable to protect themselves in an emergency without help.
Argument forAn alternative safety standard could let office surgery suites provide outpatient care to several patients who need help in an emergency.
Argument againstDesigning suites for up to six patients who may be unable to protect themselves in an emergency could make safe evacuation harder.
More detail
