Eligible Teacher Academy graduates may receive $2,500 for one year of educator training. The law allows up to 35 awards each year, with later expansion depending on interest and available funding.
The law provides a one-year $2,500 scholarship for eligible Teacher Academy graduates. Applicants must have completed a Teacher Academy offered in a Delaware public school, including a charter or vocational-technical school. They must study full time in a Delaware educator preparation program and intend to earn a bachelor's degree. Applicants must apply for financial aid they qualify for and accept offered aid, except loans. If applications exceed available funding, the Department of Education sets criteria for choosing recipients. Applicants for an educator support scholarship are also considered, and a separate application may not be required. No more than 35 scholarships may be awarded each year. Later expansion depends on interest and available funding. The scholarship is available to students entering or enrolled in an educator preparation program beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. Eligible students must start the program in the fall directly after high school graduation.
