Delaware’s Public Service Commission can consider applications from wireless providers seeking to offer federal phone and internet discounts to low-income residents.
The Public Service Commission may designate wireless phone and internet providers and resellers to offer federal Lifeline service. They must apply first.
The law lets the Public Service Commission designate wireless providers and resellers as eligible to provide federal Lifeline service. This applies to providers and resellers of cellular or wireless telecommunications service seeking to provide federal Lifeline service. A provider or reseller must apply before the Commission can designate it. The Commission may adopt rules to carry out this provision. The law takes effect immediately. Implementation is due by the earlier of six months after enactment or publication of notice that final regulations have been adopted.
