The measure would require state officials to offer Hamden a roughly 50-acre parcel and its improvements for $1.5 million, subject to state review and a 2027 deadline.
State officials would transfer about 50 acres and its improvements to Hamden for $1.5 million plus costs, subject to review-board approval and a June 30, 2027 deadline.
The Commissioner of Administrative Services would convey the parcel and its improvements to Hamden. The parcel is about 50.29 acres at 825 Hartford Turnpike in Hamden and includes the former High Meadows facility. Hamden would pay $1.5 million plus the state's administrative costs for the conveyance. The State Properties Review Board must approve the conveyance. If the transfer is not completed by the deadline, Hamden may request an extension of up to six months, and Hamden would reimburse the state for actual extension-related costs. The land and improvements would remain under state care and control until the conveyance occurs. The provision would take effect from passage, and the conveyance must occur by June 30, 2027, unless the commissioner grants the permitted extension.
