If approved, the resolution would let Alaska lawmakers keep considering two natural gas tax bills in the special session, effective from its start.
Lawmakers may keep considering two natural gas tax bills in the special session if the bills relate to topics in the governor’s proclamation.
The resolution suspends parts of Rules 47 and 55 that would block bills from carrying into the special session. The two bills concern taxes on certain natural gas pipeline property, a tax on natural gas moving through pipelines, and how that tax revenue is shared. This applies only to House Bill 381 and Senate Bill 280, and only where the rules would block those bills from carrying over. Both bills must relate to subjects in the governor’s special-session proclamation. The resolution applies retroactively from May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., when the special session began.
No hearings or votes scheduled.
