Colorado law lets school districts direct part of their monthly state school-fund payments to the labor department for school-to-work program costs.
A school district may direct part of its monthly state school-fund payment to the labor department for school-to-work program costs. The transfer is not counted as state fiscal-year spending under the state constitution.
A school district may instruct the state board to send part of its monthly payment to the Department of Labor and Employment for school-to-work program costs. The payment comes from money the district is otherwise entitled to receive from the state public school fund and covers the district's costs of joining school-to-work alliance programs. The district must give written instructions specifying the amount and the month or months covered. The state board must receive the written instructions by the fifth day of the first month in which the transfer is due.
