The responsible federal official would publish and maintain a combined list of critical minerals and materials. The list would include designated critical minerals and non-fuel materials the Energy Secretary has designated as critical by enactment. The responsible officials would coordinate update schedules as much as practical. The initial publication deadline would run from enactment; each update deadline would run from the relevant designation update.
Covered federal agencies would have to use the latest combined list when running critical mineral or material programs. This covers the official responsible for the list, the Energy Secretary, and other federal agencies that use this law’s definitions by reference.
