If enacted, covered colleges would give students national crisis contacts and a campus mental health contact on IDs or websites, starting one year later.
Starting one year after enactment, covered colleges would include national crisis contacts and a campus mental health contact on student IDs. Colleges that do not issue IDs would post those contacts on their websites.
Covered colleges would put crisis and mental health contact information on student IDs or their websites. The contacts would cover the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line, and a campus mental health center or program chosen by the college. Colleges that create and distribute student IDs after enactment would include the contacts on each card; colleges that do not would publish them on their websites. If either national service ceases to exist, the U.S. education secretary could name a similar replacement for the cards. The requirements would take effect one year after the bill becomes law.
